The Irish Open/National Irish Championships 2017

The Irish Open Championship took place on 25th June.  Last competition of the season in Ireland.
All the hard work paid off again with a large amount of trophies and medals taken home by our students.
Our Under 8 solo dancers made us the proudest school when after 4 long rounds they were in a majority in all National finals.  Well done Amy, Lauren, Madalina and Madison!

Big well done to Halle McDonnell and Vanessa Pojoga on taking home to Dublin their solo Juvenile titles of 2017 beating over 30 dancers in their events.

Our partnerships did extremely well and we are very proud of all our students.
The youngest Irish champions of 2017 are our very own Han Qi Yu and Lilly Kearns who won both Under 6 Ballroom and Latin open championships!

Han Xuan Yu and Daniela Ceban took home the Juvenile novice Latin title, an amazing start for this new partnership as they both are only 8!

The main Juvenile title of the season was taken by Elliot Kelly and Avah Wall who are now the Irish Open/National Juvenile Champions in 5 dance Latin!!!

Faustina Calpanovaite and Kelly Costa – All girls both Ballroom and Latin title holders, never loosing in Irish All girls since they started competing as a partnership a year ago.

Caroline Romanciuc – Irish National Student/Teacher adult Champion in Open Ballroom.

Emma Lawlor – Irish National Student/Teacher adult Champion in Open Latin.

As well as these we had finalists in other main events:
Justin Plesca and Erika Calin – Vice Champions in Under8 Latin,
Darius Ceban and Dayna Kelly – 2nd Vice Champions in Juvenile novice Latin,
Tara Curran and Katherine Pavlov – 4th place in Juvenile 5 dance Open Latin.

The weekend was finished off with some of the couples getting lessons from international teachers and getting some very positive feedback. This could not have been achieved without the experience and dedication of our two teachers – Wojtek and Karen.

They have instilled their love and passion for Ballroom and Latin dancing in all their students and this is shown in how sucessful the school is.
The school will now close for the month of July but will open again at the beginning of August with an intensive training camp in Palmerstown that will be open for everyone.
